Ludendorff Offensive
The Ludendorff Offensive was a series of German military attacks during World War I, launched in the spring of 1918. Named after General Erich Ludendorff, the offensive aimed to break the stalemate on the Western Front before American forces could fully arrive. The campaign initially achieved significant territorial gains, pushing back Allied lines.
However, the offensive ultimately failed to secure a decisive victory. The Allied Forces regrouped and counterattacked, leading to heavy German casualties and exhaustion. By the summer of 1918, the tide had turned, contributing to the eventual defeat of Germany in the war.
