Lucas Sequence
The Lucas Sequence is a series of numbers similar to the Fibonacci Sequence. It starts with the numbers 2 and 1, and each subsequent number is the sum of the two preceding ones. Thus, the sequence begins as 2, 1, 3, 4, 7, 11, and so on.
This sequence is named after the French mathematician François Édouard Anatole Lucas, who studied it in the 19th century. The Lucas Numbers have various applications in mathematics, including number theory and combinatorics, and they share many properties with the Fibonacci numbers, such as relationships to the golden ratio.
