Luca Parmitano
Luca Parmitano is an Italian astronaut and test pilot born on September 27, 1976. He is a member of the European Space Agency (ESA) and has participated in two long-duration missions aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Parmitano is known for his work in scientific research and technology development in space.
Before becoming an astronaut, Parmitano served as a pilot in the Italian Air Force. He was selected as an astronaut in 2009 and completed his first spaceflight in 2013. Parmitano made history during his second mission in 2019 by becoming the first astronaut to conduct a spacewalk while wearing a helmet-mounted camera.
