Louis II of Italy
Louis II of Italy was a king who ruled from 844 to 875 AD. He was a member of the Carolingian dynasty and the grandson of Charlemagne. His reign was marked by challenges, including conflicts with local nobles and external threats from the Saracens and Vikings.
Louis II is known for his efforts to maintain the unity of the Holy Roman Empire and for his role in the defense of Italy. He was crowned Emperor in 850, but his authority was often contested. His reign ended with his death in 875, after which the empire faced further fragmentation.
