Lothar II
Lothar II was a king of the Franks who ruled from 855 to 869. He was the son of Lothar I and Ermengarde, and he inherited the central part of the Frankish Empire, known as Lotharingia. His reign was marked by conflicts over territory and power, particularly with his brothers, Charles the Bald and Louis the German.
Lothar II is best known for his struggles to maintain control over his kingdom and for his involvement in the political and religious disputes of the time. His reign ended with his death in 869, leading to further fragmentation of the Frankish Empire among his heirs.
