Lotfi Zadeh
Lotfi Zadeh was an Iranian-American mathematician and computer scientist, best known for founding the field of fuzzy logic. Born on February 4, 1921, in Baku, Azerbaijan, he later moved to the United States, where he contributed significantly to various areas of artificial intelligence and control systems.
Zadeh's most notable work, published in 1965, introduced the concept of fuzzy sets, which allows for reasoning with degrees of truth rather than the traditional binary true/false approach. His ideas have influenced numerous applications, including decision-making, data analysis, and machine learning. Zadeh passed away on September 6, 2017.
