Lost Boys of Sudan
The "Lost Boys of Sudan" refers to a group of over 20,000 boys who were displaced during the Second Sudanese Civil War, which lasted from 1983 to 2005. Many of these boys, aged between 5 and 18, fled their villages to escape violence and persecution. They undertook a perilous journey, walking hundreds of miles to refugee camps in neighboring countries like Ethiopia and Kenya.
In the camps, the Lost Boys faced numerous challenges, including inadequate food, shelter, and education. Eventually, many were resettled in countries such as the United States, where they sought to rebuild their lives and share their experiences of survival and resilience.
