Loriidae
The family Loriidae consists of small, nocturnal primates known as lorises and pottos. They are native to tropical forests in Africa and Asia. These animals are characterized by their large eyes, which help them see well in low light, and their slow, deliberate movements.
Loriidae members are primarily insectivorous but also consume fruits and leaves. They have a unique defense mechanism: some species produce a toxic secretion from their elbows, which they can apply to their fur or deliver through bites. This toxicity helps deter predators in their natural habitats.
