Lonicera
Lonicera is a genus of flowering plants commonly known as honeysuckles. These plants are characterized by their sweet-smelling flowers, which can be tubular or bell-shaped, and often attract pollinators like bees and hummingbirds. Honeysuckles can be found in various habitats, including gardens, woodlands, and along fences, and they can be either deciduous or evergreen.
There are over 180 species of Lonicera, with some being native to North America and others to Asia and Europe. Many honeysuckle species produce small berries that can be enjoyed by birds, while some are used in traditional medicine. However, certain varieties can be invasive in some regions, outcompeting native plants.
