Lodoicea
Lodoicea is a genus of palm trees native to the Seychelles islands in the Indian Ocean. The most well-known species, Lodoicea maldivica, is famous for its large, double coconut fruits, which can weigh up to 30 kilograms. These unique coconuts have a distinctive shape, resembling a pair of buttocks, and are often referred to as "double coconuts."
The Lodoicea palm can grow up to 30 meters tall and has a long lifespan, sometimes living for over 100 years. It thrives in coastal areas and is often found in the wild on the islands of Praslin and Curieuse. Due to habitat loss and overharvesting, the species is considered vulnerable and is protected by conservation efforts.
