Lodi dynasty
The Lodi dynasty was a Muslim dynasty that ruled the Delhi Sultanate in northern India from 1451 to 1526. Founded by Bahlul Lodi, the dynasty marked the transition from the Sayyid dynasty to a more stable and powerful rule. The Lodi rulers were known for their efforts to consolidate power and expand their territory, as well as for their patronage of art and architecture.
The most notable rulers of the Lodi dynasty included Sikandar Lodi and Ibrahim Lodi. Sikandar Lodi is remembered for his administrative reforms and urban development, while Ibrahim Lodi faced challenges from regional powers. The dynasty ultimately fell to the Mughal Empire after Ibrahim Lodi was defeated at the First Battle of Panipat in 1526.
