Liver Metastases
Liver metastases refer to cancer cells that have spread to the liver from other parts of the body. This often occurs when primary tumors, such as those in the breast, colon, or lung, release cancer cells into the bloodstream, allowing them to settle in the liver. The presence of metastases can complicate treatment and may affect liver function.
Symptoms of liver metastases can include abdominal pain, weight loss, and jaundice, which is a yellowing of the skin and eyes. Diagnosis typically involves imaging tests like CT scans or MRIs, and treatment options may include chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or surgery, depending on the extent of the disease.
