Lithuanian Political Parties
Lithuania has a multi-party system, with several political parties representing a range of ideologies. The main parties include the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union, which focuses on agrarian issues and environmental policies, and the Homeland Union, a center-right party that emphasizes national security and economic growth. Other notable parties are the Social Democratic Party and the Liberal Movement, which advocate for social justice and liberal economic policies, respectively.
Elections in Lithuania are held every four years, allowing citizens to vote for their preferred parties in the Seimas, the national parliament. Political coalitions are common, as no single party usually gains an outright majority. This encourages collaboration among parties to form stable governments.
