Lindbergh kidnapping case
The Lindbergh kidnapping case refers to the abduction of Charles Lindbergh Jr., the infant son of famous aviator Charles Lindbergh and his wife Anne Morrow Lindbergh, in 1932. The child was taken from their home in New Jersey, leading to a nationwide search and extensive media coverage.
After a ransom of $50,000 was paid, the child's body was discovered in May 1932, just a few miles from the Lindbergh home. In 1934, Bruno Hauptmann was arrested and later convicted of the crime, becoming a controversial figure in American legal history.
