The Library of Celsus is an ancient Roman building located in Ephesus, Turkey. Constructed around 135 AD, it was built to honor Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, a Roman senator. The library was designed to hold around 12,000 scrolls and served as a monumental tomb for Celsus.
The structure features a grand façade with intricate columns and statues, showcasing the architectural style of the time. It was one of the largest libraries in the ancient world and played a significant role in the cultural and intellectual life of Ephesus until it was damaged by earthquakes in the 3rd and 4th centuries.
