The Library of Celsus is an ancient Roman building located in Ephesus, Turkey. Constructed around 135 AD, it was built to honor Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, a Roman senator. The library was designed to hold around 12,000 scrolls and served as a major center of learning in the ancient world. The structure features a grand façade with intricate columns and statues, showcasing the architectural style of the time. It was not only a library but also served as a tomb for Celsus, whose remains were placed in a crypt beneath the library. Today, it stands as a significant archaeological site.
