Liberty and Refoundation Party
The Liberty and Refoundation Party, known as LIBRE, is a political party in Honduras founded in 2011. It emerged as a response to the political crisis following the 2009 coup that ousted President Manuel Zelaya. The party advocates for social justice, human rights, and the empowerment of marginalized communities.
LIBRE positions itself as a leftist alternative to traditional political parties in Honduras. It seeks to promote democratic governance and challenge corruption while focusing on issues such as poverty reduction and environmental sustainability. The party has gained significant support, particularly among those disillusioned with the existing political system.
