Liberland
Liberland is a self-proclaimed micronation located on a disputed piece of land between Croatia and Serbia along the Danube River. Founded in 2015 by Vít Jedlička, it claims to be a libertarian paradise, promoting minimal government and individual freedoms. The area is approximately 7 square kilometers and is not officially recognized by any country.
The territory of Liberland emerged from a territorial dispute following the breakup of Yugoslavia. Despite its claims, the land remains largely uninhabited and has faced challenges in establishing a permanent population or governance. The micronation has attracted attention for its unique approach to governance and its efforts to gain international recognition.
