Liberalia
Liberalia was an ancient Roman festival celebrated on March 17th in honor of the god Liber, associated with fertility, wine, and freedom. The festival marked the coming of age for young boys, who would don the toga virilis, symbolizing their transition into adulthood.
During Liberalia, people participated in various rituals, including offerings of wine and cakes to Liber and his female counterpart, Libera. The festivities often included music, dancing, and public celebrations, reflecting the joy and significance of the occasion in Roman society.
