Lesser Sand Plover
The Lesser Sand Plover is a small shorebird belonging to the family Charadriidae. It is typically found in coastal areas, especially on sandy beaches and mudflats. This bird has a short, stout bill and a distinctive brown and white plumage, which helps it blend into its environment.
During migration, the Lesser Sand Plover travels between breeding grounds in Central Asia and wintering sites in Southeast Asia and Australia. It primarily feeds on small invertebrates, such as insects and crustaceans, which it finds by foraging along the shoreline.
