Lepcha
The Lepcha are an indigenous ethnic group primarily found in the eastern Himalayas, particularly in the regions of Sikkim and West Bengal in India. They have their own distinct language, also called Lepcha, which belongs to the Tibeto-Burman language family. Traditionally, the Lepcha people are known for their rich cultural heritage, including unique customs, music, and dance.
Historically, the Lepcha have been engaged in agriculture, with rice and millet as staple crops. They are also known for their traditional crafts, such as weaving and bamboo work. The Lepcha community has a deep spiritual connection to nature, often practicing animism and revering the mountains and rivers in their surroundings.
