Lenticules
Lenticules are small, lens-shaped features found in certain types of clouds, particularly in altocumulus and stratus clouds. They form when moist air flows over a mountain or other obstacle, creating waves in the atmosphere. As the air rises and cools, it can condense into these distinct, smooth shapes, often resembling the lenses of glasses.
These cloud formations are typically stationary and can indicate the presence of mountain waves in the atmosphere. Lenticules are often mistaken for flying saucers due to their unique appearance, but they are purely a natural phenomenon related to atmospheric conditions.
