Laura Chinchilla
Laura Chinchilla is a Costa Rican politician and academic who served as the first female President of Costa Rica from 2010 to 2014. She is a member of the National Liberation Party and has held various governmental positions, including Minister of Justice and Peace. Chinchilla is known for her focus on social issues, security, and sustainable development.
Born on March 28, 1959, in San José, Chinchilla earned her degree in Political Science from University of Costa Rica and later obtained a master's degree from Georgetown University. After her presidency, she continued to engage in international organizations and promote women's rights and democracy.
