Lasik
Lasik is a popular eye surgery designed to correct vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. The procedure uses a laser to reshape the cornea, the clear front part of the eye, allowing light to focus more accurately on the retina. Most patients experience improved vision shortly after the surgery, often reducing or eliminating the need for glasses or contact lenses.
The Lasik procedure typically takes about 15 minutes per eye and is performed on an outpatient basis. Patients are usually awake during the surgery but receive numbing eye drops to minimize discomfort. Recovery is quick, with many individuals returning to normal activities within a day or two.
