Larry Itliong
Larry Itliong was a Filipino American labor leader and activist known for his role in the United Farm Workers (UFW) movement. Born on October 25, 1913, in San Nicolas, Philippines, he immigrated to the United States in 1929. Itliong played a crucial role in organizing farm workers, advocating for better wages and working conditions, and was instrumental in the 1965 Delano grape strike.
Itliong co-founded the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee and later joined forces with Cesar Chavez to form the UFW. His leadership and dedication to labor rights significantly contributed to the advancement of workers' rights in the agricultural sector, making him a key figure in American labor history.
