Landless Workers' Movement
The Landless Workers' Movement (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra, or MST) is a social movement in Brazil that advocates for land reform and the rights of rural workers. Founded in 1984, it aims to address the issues of land concentration and inequality by organizing landless families to occupy unused land and demand its redistribution for agricultural use.
MST promotes sustainable agriculture and social justice, providing education and support to its members. The movement has played a significant role in raising awareness about land rights and has influenced policies related to agrarian reform in Brazil, making it one of the largest social movements in the country.
