Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary
Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Madhya Pradesh state of India. Established in 1981, it covers an area of approximately 344 square kilometers. The sanctuary is known for its diverse flora and fauna, including species like the Indian leopard, sambar deer, and various birds. It plays a crucial role in wildlife conservation and habitat protection.
In recent years, Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary has gained attention for its efforts to reintroduce the Asiatic lion to the region. This initiative aims to create a second home for the lions, which are primarily found in the Gir National Park. The sanctuary's varied landscapes, including grasslands and forests, provide an ideal environment for these majestic animals.
