Indian leopard
The Indian leopard is a subspecies of leopard found primarily in the Indian subcontinent. It is known for its distinctive coat, which features a pattern of rosettes and spots that provide excellent camouflage in its natural habitat. These leopards are adaptable and can thrive in various environments, including forests, grasslands, and mountainous regions.
Typically, Indian leopards are solitary animals, preferring to hunt and live alone. They are skilled climbers and often store their prey in trees to protect it from scavengers. Their diet mainly consists of deer, wild boar, and smaller mammals, making them important predators in their ecosystem.
