Krumkake
Krumkake is a traditional Norwegian dessert that resembles a delicate, crispy waffle. Made from a simple batter of flour, sugar, eggs, and butter, it is cooked in a special iron mold that gives it its unique shape. Once baked, the thin cake is rolled into a cone or cylinder while still warm, creating a hollow treat that can be filled with whipped cream or other sweet fillings.
This dessert is often enjoyed during festive occasions, especially around Christmas. Its name translates to "bent cake," reflecting its rolled form. Krumkake is not only popular in Norway but has also found a place in Scandinavian communities around the world.
