Kranhäuser
The Kranhäuser, or "crane houses," are a distinctive architectural feature located in the Rheinauhafen district of Cologne, Germany. These three residential buildings, designed by the architectural firm RKW Architektur, resemble giant cranes and are situated along the Rhine River. They were completed in 2008 and serve as a symbol of modern urban development.
Each Kranhaus consists of a mix of apartments and office spaces, with large cantilevered sections that provide stunning views of the river and city. The design reflects a blend of functionality and aesthetics, making the Kranhäuser a notable landmark in Cologne's skyline.
