Korean tree frog
The Korean tree frog (Hyla japonica) is a small amphibian native to East Asia, particularly found in Korea, Japan, and parts of China. This species is known for its vibrant green color, which helps it blend into its natural habitat of forests and wetlands. They are typically active at night and are recognized for their distinctive croaking sounds during the breeding season.
These frogs are about 3 to 5 centimeters long and have a slender body with long limbs. They primarily feed on insects and other small invertebrates. The Korean tree frog plays an important role in the ecosystem by controlling insect populations and serving as prey for larger animals.
