Korean Languages
The term "Korean languages" primarily refers to the language spoken in both South Korea and North Korea, known as Korean. It is part of the Koreanic language family, which is unique and not closely related to other language families. The standard form of Korean is based on the dialect spoken in Seoul, the capital of South Korea.
Korean is written using a script called Hangul, which was created in the 15th century to improve literacy. The language has a complex system of honorifics that reflects social hierarchy and relationships. There are also regional dialects, such as Gyeongsang and Jeolla, which can differ significantly in pronunciation and vocabulary.
