Kopesh
The Kopesh is an ancient Egyptian sword characterized by its distinctive curved blade and a broad, flat design. It typically measures about 60 to 80 centimeters in length and was primarily used in combat during the New Kingdom period. The unique shape allowed for powerful slashing attacks, making it effective against armored opponents.
Originally, the Kopesh was made from bronze, but later versions were crafted from iron as metallurgy advanced. It often featured a wooden or metal hilt, and some examples were adorned with intricate designs. The Kopesh also held symbolic significance, representing power and authority in ancient Egyptian culture.
