Kolmanskop
Kolmanskop is a ghost town located in Namibia, near the town of Lüderitz. It was once a thriving diamond mining community in the early 1900s, attracting workers and their families due to the diamond rush. The town features distinctive German colonial architecture, with many buildings now partially buried in sand.
As diamond resources dwindled, Kolmanskop was abandoned in the 1950s. Today, it serves as a popular tourist destination, where visitors can explore the remnants of the past, including the old hospital, school, and various homes, all showcasing the impact of nature reclaiming the area.
