Kolkhoz
A Kolkhoz is a type of collective farm that was established in the Soviet Union during the 1920s and 1930s. These farms were created to promote collective agriculture, where farmers worked together and shared resources, rather than farming individually. The goal was to increase agricultural productivity and support the socialist economy.
Kolkhozes were often organized around a central management structure, which coordinated farming activities and distribution of goods. Members of a kolkhoz received a share of the harvest and were expected to contribute labor. This system was part of the broader policy of collectivization, which aimed to consolidate individual landholdings into larger, state-controlled farms.
