Klyuchevskaya Sopka
Klyuchevskaya Sopka is the highest active volcano in Russia, standing at 4,750 meters (15,584 feet) tall. Located in the Kamchatka Peninsula, it is part of the Klyuchevskaya group of volcanoes, which includes several other notable peaks. The volcano is known for its symmetrical cone shape and frequent eruptions, making it a significant site for volcanic research.
The first recorded eruption of Klyuchevskaya Sopka occurred in 1697, and it has erupted many times since then. Its eruptions can produce lava flows, ash clouds, and pyroclastic flows, impacting the surrounding environment. The area around the volcano is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, recognized for its unique geological features.
