Kingdom of Hanthawaddy
The Kingdom of Hanthawaddy was a historical state located in present-day Myanmar. It existed from the 14th to the 18th centuries and was known for its rich culture and trade. The kingdom's capital was Bago, which became a significant center for commerce and Buddhism during its peak.
Hanthawaddy was ruled by the Mon people, who contributed to the region's art, architecture, and literature. The kingdom often engaged in conflicts with neighboring states, including the Toungoo Dynasty. Ultimately, it fell to the Burmese in the late 18th century, marking the end of its independence.
