Kingdom of Ayutthaya
The Kingdom of Ayutthaya was a powerful Siamese kingdom that existed from 1351 to 1767 in present-day Thailand. It was known for its impressive architecture, vibrant trade, and cultural exchanges with various nations. The capital city, also named Ayutthaya, became a major center for commerce and diplomacy in Southeast Asia.
Ayutthaya was characterized by its grand temples, such as Wat Phra Si Sanphet and Wat Chaiwatthanaram, showcasing a blend of Khmer and Sukhothai architectural styles. The kingdom fell to the Burmese in 1767, leading to its decline, but its historical significance remains influential in Thai culture today.
