King of Sweden
The King of Sweden is the ceremonial head of state of the Kingdom of Sweden. As of October 2023, the current king is Carl XVI Gustaf, who has held the throne since 1973. His role is largely symbolic, representing Sweden at official events and promoting national unity. The monarchy is constitutional, meaning the king's powers are limited by the constitution.
The Swedish royal family includes other members, such as the crown princess, Victoria, who is first in line to the throne. The monarchy is supported by the Royal Court of Sweden, which manages the king's official duties and public engagements.
