King Yeonsan
King Yeonsan was the 14th king of the Joseon Dynasty in Korea, reigning from 1494 to 1506. He is often remembered for his tyrannical rule and extravagant lifestyle, which led to significant social and political unrest. His reign was marked by the suppression of dissent and the persecution of scholars, particularly those associated with the Confucian ideals that were central to the dynasty's governance.
Despite his controversial legacy, King Yeonsan also contributed to the arts and culture of Korea. He was known for his patronage of music and theater, which flourished during his time. However, his oppressive policies ultimately led to his downfall, resulting in his removal from the throne by a coup led by the Noble class.
