King Salman of Saudi Arabia
King Salman of Saudi Arabia is the current monarch, having ascended to the throne on January 23, 2015. Born on December 31, 1935, he is the son of King Abdulaziz, the founder of modern Saudi Arabia. Before becoming king, Salman served as the governor of Riyadh for over 50 years, where he played a significant role in the city's development.
As king, Salman has focused on economic reforms and modernization through his vision known as Vision 2030. This initiative aims to diversify the Saudi economy and reduce its dependence on oil. He has also been involved in regional politics and has strengthened Saudi Arabia's role in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
