King Peter II of Yugoslavia
King Peter II of Yugoslavia was born on September 6, 1923, and became the king at just 11 years old after his father, King Alexander I, was assassinated in 1934. His reign was marked by political instability and the rise of fascism in Europe, leading to his exile during World War II.
In 1941, after the Axis powers invaded Yugoslavia, Peter II fled to London, where he worked with the Yugoslav government-in-exile. He returned to Yugoslavia after the war but was unable to reclaim his throne due to the establishment of a communist regime. He lived in exile until his death on November 3, 1970.
