King Michael I
King Michael I of Romania was born on October 25, 1921, and became king at a young age. He first reigned from 1927 to 1930 and then again from 1940 until his forced abdication in 1947. His reign was marked by significant political changes, including World War II and the rise of communism in Romania.
After his abdication, King Michael I lived in exile for several decades, primarily in Switzerland. He returned to Romania after the fall of communism in 1989 and was welcomed by many Romanians. He passed away on December 5, 2017, leaving a legacy as a symbol of national unity.
