King Mathias
King Mathias, also known as Matthias Corvinus, was the King of Hungary from 1458 to 1490. He was born in 1443 and is remembered for his efforts to strengthen the kingdom and promote the arts and education. Mathias was a patron of Renaissance culture and established the famous Bibliotheca Corviniana, one of the largest libraries in Europe at the time.
