Matthias Corvinus
Matthias Corvinus was a Hungarian king who ruled from 1458 to 1490. He is known for his efforts to strengthen the kingdom and expand its territory. Matthias was a patron of the arts and education, establishing the Bibliotheca Corviniana, one of the largest libraries in Europe at the time. His reign is often considered a golden age for Hungary.
Corvinus was also a skilled military leader, successfully defending Hungary against invasions and engaging in campaigns against the Ottoman Empire. He sought to create a centralized state and promoted the use of the Hungarian language in administration. His legacy continues to influence Hungarian history and culture.
