King Jean I
King Jean I was a monarch of France who reigned briefly in 1316. He was the son of King Philip IV and became king at just five years old after the death of his father. Due to his young age, his reign was controlled by regents, primarily his uncle, Charles of Valois.
Jean I's reign lasted only five days, making it one of the shortest in history. He died on November 20, 1316, likely due to illness. Following his death, the throne passed to his uncle, King Philip V, marking the end of Jean's brief and largely symbolic rule.
