King James II of Scotland
King James II of Scotland was born on October 16, 1430, and became king in 1437 after the assassination of his father, King James I. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen royal authority and reduce the power of the nobility.
James II is known for his military campaigns against the English and for his attempts to consolidate the Scottish crown's power. He was also a patron of the arts and is remembered for his contributions to Scottish culture. His reign ended with his death in 1460 during a siege at Roxburgh Castle.
