King George II of Greece
King George II of Greece was born on July 19, 1890, and reigned as the King of Greece from 1922 to 1924 and again from 1935 until his death in 1947. He was a member of the House of Glücksburg and the son of King Constantine I. His reign was marked by political instability and the challenges of World War II.
During his time on the throne, Greece faced significant turmoil, including the Greek Civil War and the occupation by Nazi Germany. King George II fled to London during the German occupation but returned after the war. He died on April 1, 1947, and was succeeded by his brother, King Paul I.
