King Frederick VI of Denmark
King Frederick VI of Denmark reigned from 1808 to 1839. He was born on October 28, 1768, and became king after the death of his father, King Frederick V. His reign was marked by significant political changes, including the loss of Norway to Sweden in 1814, following the Napoleonic Wars. Frederick VI worked to modernize Denmark and improve its economy.
During his rule, Frederick VI also focused on social reforms, including the abolition of serfdom in 1800. He was known for his interest in education and the arts, supporting various cultural initiatives. His reign ended with his death on December 3, 1839.
