King Ferdinand II
King Ferdinand II was a significant figure in European history, known for his role as the King of Aragon and Castile during the late 15th century. He is best remembered for his marriage to Isabella I, which united their kingdoms and laid the foundation for the modern nation of Spain. Together, they completed the Reconquista, driving out the last Muslim rulers from the Iberian Peninsula in 1492.
Ferdinand and Isabella also sponsored Christopher Columbus's famous voyage, leading to the discovery of the New World. Their reign marked the beginning of Spain's rise as a global power, influencing trade, exploration, and culture for centuries to come.
